Kwasi Ohene-Ayeh

Kwasi Ohene-Ayeh is an artist based in Kumasi, Ghana. He articulates his ideas through writing, installation, site-specific and curatorial projects. He has participated in residencies with CCA–Lagos (Àsìkò International Art School in Dakar, Senegal), Gasworks (London, UK), Lugar a dudas (Santiago de Cali, Colombia) and The Village of Arts and Humanities (Philadelphia, USA). He is also an ICI Curatorial Intensive alumnus. Ohene-Ayeh is currently pursuing his MFA at the College of Art, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

When he arrived in Philly’s Fairhill neighborhood, Kwasi was struck by the number of people who had an artistic practice. His project explores our local creative power by seeking out local artists—all kinds, and as many as possible—and bringing them together to collaborate. His culminating interactive exhibition will bring together the art with the moments created and shared in the neighborhood for the audience to experience, play with, and create with.
